Honoring Fire: The Role of the Fire Tender is a free, one-hour Zoom gathering offered in recognition of National Firewalking Day. This session is dedicated to fire awareness and to honoring the often unseen but essential role of the Fire Tender. Fire tenders are those who prepare, tend, and safeguard ceremonial fire with care and responsibility.
The focus is centered around education, reflection, and ethical relationship with fire as a living element. Participants will be introduced to the responsibilities involved in fire tending, why preparation and training matter, and how thoughtful stewardship forms the foundation for any ceremonial fire work.
This is a conversation and awareness gathering, not a firewalk. The intention is to offer a grounded entry point for those who are curious about fire work, fire tending, or the values that guide Sacred Grove’s approach to ceremonial fire.
This gathering also serves as a gentle introduction for those who may wish to learn more about future Fire Tending education. There is no expectation to commit to any next step. Only an invitation to listen, reflect, ask questions, and understand what tending fire responsibly involves.
