Herbal Wisdom: Oat Straw | Restoration & Support - Online

This one-hour online gathering explores oat straw (Avena sativa) though the lens of reflection, meditation, sensory awareness, and simple experiential practices.

Oat straw has a long history within Western herbal traditions and has been associated with nourishment and support during ties of nervous exhaustion and depletion. This month, we’ll use the plant as a starting point for exploring restoration and support. We will look at the difference between replenishing ourselves and simply just pushing on.

Though guided reflection and quiet awareness, we’ll consider how we recognize depletion, what genuinely restores us, and how support can become part of our rhythm before we reach exhaustion.

Participants are welcome to have a small amount of oat straw or a cup of oat straw tea available during the class. This is optional and is not required to participate.

Herbal Wisdom is designed as a calm and welcoming space to connect with plants through experience, reflection, and seasonal awareness. It is not a clinical herbalism course, certification training, or formal Materia medica class.

No prior herbal experience is needed.

Educational in nature and not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
